In February, EPIC participated at the third international meeting of StartNet Europe network. The main topic of the meeting was inclusion of NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) into education, training and labour market. We discussed our approaches and shared best practices with the partners. Participating organisations also discussed current and future projects and opportunities for further cooperation.
We visited two partner organisations as part of our program. Lanzaderas de Empleo y Emprendimiento Solidario hosted a discussion on ways to reduce unemployment and showed us and our partners their unique program based on community principles and positive approach centred around individuals and their personal development. We visited one of their centres and engaged in an inspiring discussion with two groups of participants.
On the second day, we visited Fundación Secretariado Gitano and learned about their work in education field, employment field and their unique monitoring tool developed with Accenture. A powerful moment was constituted by testimonials from young participants of their programs talking about how education, training and mentoring changed their lives.
